1ST DAY!!!!!!! \(^o^)/ (UPDATED!)

皆さん、こんにちわ~~

Writing from JAPAN!! =D We have finally arrived safely in the early hours of the morning and we're glad to share with you some of the things we did today, and some little observations that we've made! 行きましょう~~^^

We were pleasantly surprised by the staff re-arranging the luggages at the conveyor belt. All the staff we had met were all very friendly and warm towards us, making us feel really welcomed to Japan!

"No carts" sign on the floor at the collection point.

We felt that it was an effective way to hasten the collection of baggage process as the carts would not be blocking others from collecting their luggage should it ever arrive. The passengers all complied with the rules too, making our collection much easier.

After we collected our bags, we had a little toilet break where we saw for ourselves just how advanced Japan is in technology....

                                                                   5 buttons for a toilet...

After that, we headed off to Asakusa-bashi! (Where our hotel is located) It was the first time to travel around Japan on a train for most of us and it was great! The process of buying the tickets were not complicated and the staff were very helpful too. Here is how the ticketing machine looks like...

After alighting from the train, WE BRAVED THE CHILLING WINDS AND FREEZING WEATHER AND FINALLY REACHED OUR HOTEL. hahaha^^ nah~ it was just a short 3 mins walk from the station. And we enjoyed the cooling weather.

After putting our luggages down, we met two friendly ladies whom we had an interesting conversation with them. They are from Hokkaido and were very friendly! They also informed us about the free shuttle bus service, courtesy of the hotel, which takes us to Akihabara.

We decided to make changes to our itinerary, taking a detour to Akihabara, well-known for their electronics. We went to eat at a soba house near the station, while waiting for the departmental store to open. It was DEEELLICCIOUSSSSS!!!!!!!  We had fun trying out the vending machine where we would order and pay for our food, and give a coupon of our order to the chef.

                                                                 The vending machine

                                                            The coupon for our order
                                                                  The friendly owner^^
                                                                     UDON!!!!!!!!!! =D

After filling our tummies, we went to an electronic departmental store which is interesting as it was the first time for most of us to visit a whole building dedicated to the selling of electronic devices.

                                                         Walking around the building~

We then travelled to Asakusa! The streets were interesting, with lots and lots of food! We celebrated Mr Ang’s birthday (16th Nov) and here is him posing in front of a bustling street!

                                                              Celebrating his birthday!

Taiyaki we ate on the way to the temple.

                                                                    Sweet potato flavour!

We arrived at the beautiful Sensoji temple.
Entrance to the street before the main tmeple, "Rei-mon".

                                                                         Group shot!
                                                                     The busy street.
Finally arrived at the main temple!

                                                                  Water for cleansing.

We prayed and drew lots!

                                                             More pictures of the temple.

After our visit to the temple, we spotted a very tall tower and spontaneously to walk to it!

IT’S THE TOKYO SKY TREE! We stopped at a beautiful park where we could get a good view of the tower. It was relaxing and the view was great!

We were all tired but happy as we travelled back to the hotel to finally check in.We explored around the area of our hotel and decided to eat at a Ramen shop nearby.

Our end-of-day meeting after dinner with some late night snacks bought from the convenience store nearby

So that’s the end of our first day!!! Hope you enjoyed reading it and please wait patiently for our 2nd day updates!

Signing off from Japan!!!!!!!!! SAYONARA! =D
